Plymouth is a busy place, one of just two Citys with a population of just over 250,000 people.   Plymouth’s next city is Exeter which is located in central Devon. This photo is of the Naval base – Devonport Dockyard where there is around 10% of the original fleets of naval vessels based here, modern ships include HMS Ocean (The British Navy’s very latest aircraft carrier – the fact we have no aeroplanes makes you wonder why), not so long a go this naval base was known for buying in bolts for the boats there at 10x their original value so they were paying £5 instead of 50p each, and if you have ever wondered why a lot of buildings especially at the bottom of Plymouth is painted battle ship grey – well lets just say that paint has gone missing from the Naval Base and a very lot of it too.

Lets talk some of the equipment used in this blog post – I used my smartphone – Samsung S23 Ultra and also a Fujifilm X30 compact digital camera.

The software used with these photos were.. – join up to my learning portal to learn more on my techniques and more.. 🙂

This building is part of the University of Plymouth, a wide angle photo looking from hip level up.  Itys on North Road.  Its a very modern building.  World War Two this is the site of a air raid shelter that was divided into two at the time and sadly one of the two sections of the bunker took a direct hit and killed everyone inside of that section.

The Palace Theatre - Union Street

Perhaps once the most well known Street in Plymouth and no not for the Palace Theatre but instead it was known as Plymouth’s Red Light District.

Apparently its now the street behind that’s known for such activities.
