These images were taken about four five years a go and yes its time for another trip back to NYC, the last time I was there, I was relying on my new Fujifilm X100, a compact camera with fixed lens and stunning optics, with dreamy images to die for. (Not literally, we dont want for anyone to get hurt here).
New York City is amazing and has a lovely bunh of people that call the City home, exploring such a fine City in the USA with a professional compact camera was exciting and challenging, especially as I enjoy shooting in film mode, where basically I take 24 images shooting the camera manually as if it were an old film camera, I also switch off the rear LCD screen to hep simulate this photographic experience, back then i was not all that good, hence the above images, also at the time, I had with me a Canon G1X which is also a very good compact camera although shoots video and has a flippy screen and also something the X100 lacked – A zoom.
Although I have neither cameras today, I will likely buy them one day again for nostalga purposes, each can be had only for around £300 used and each have newer models made like the G1x MK2 and the X100 T etc, at the end of the day, stunning cameras being 1st or the latest gen cameras.
What I do have that really needs to be used more is a Panasonic Lumix LX100, P+S compact camera that offers me the same sensor as my older M43 gear, a fast 2.8 lens and metal construction, this too is the first gen tho I only bought it this year (2019), now replaced by the X100 MK2.
