Ive been going through my camera bits trying to decide which camera and which backup camera to take to Norway with me, travelling solo I need to be able to get some of the best landscape photos im likely to ever see, after all the fjords are as deep and as high as the mountains that surround them, when I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic I treated myself to a used Pentax Q7 and never really used it, I could never get a decent image from the camera, yet something told me I just had to keep it, so I did, and this week its safe to say its going with me as my back-up camera. Ive the one lens for it thats the 02 but even know its a kit lens, its going to be good enough for wide shots, the drawbacks I can see is there is no weather prof sealing, batteries will have to be kept warm due to temperature shifts and fresh mountain air coming down the Mountain sides. Temperatures are going to be between -2 and 12 degrees and thats on a good day. The 02 lens is wide its 5-15mm f2.8-4.5, its rubbish in low light, focussing is an issue but am thinking for its size its going to be good for discreet street photography and landscapes.
But what else, sadly the drone isnt allowed especially through customs. Plus am not sure I want to use a non weather sealed AF adaptor with my Nikons. The recent Nikon D60 is a bit too old tho the 18-200mm would be nice on the Z mount – but its not. Plus all this adds to the weight. My feeling is I will be taking with my the Pentax Q and the Nikon Z50 with 24-70mm f4 lens.

So yes, for its small size and light weight it will be fine I must remember to keep the batteries in a sock or something so they dont get too cold, plus find a suitable UV to protect the front element and also take the USB C card reader. – or leave it home and just enjoy myself – The adapter and iPad that is.
